Little Library - Edna Runner Tutorial Center Jupiter-Tequesta Kiwanis club members installed a Little Library in front of the Edna Runner Tutorial Center in the Limestone Creek area of Jupiter. Anyone can take a book and/or leave a book, especially children. The Kiwanis Club ensures that the Little Library is stocked with books.

Palm Beach County Food Project The Jupiter-Tequesta Kiwanis Club participates in the Palm Beach County Food Project. Members pack donated food for numerous Palm Beach County food pantries. The project takes place six times a year on the second Saturday of the even-numbered months. Club members meet at Ocean View United Methodist Church in Juno Beach, which is one of five collection centers in Palm Beach County. On February 10, 2024 a total of 32,805 pounds of food were collected providing 17,338 meals for food insecure people in Palm Beach County. Kiwanis Library at Thelma Pittman Preschool
The Jupiter-Tequesta Kiwanis Club established the Kiwanis Lending Library at the Thelma Pittman Jupiter Preschool. The library is situated inside the school in its own separate room with books and computers. The Kiwanis Club collects children’s books to stock the library. Many hands are involved in obtaining, sorting, and arranging the books. |
The only facility of its kind between Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando, Quantum House provides a “caring place to call home” for families while their children are being treated for a critical illness or injury in Palm Beach County. When a child becomes seriously ill, the whole family suffers if the child must be hospitalized or receive treatment far from home. Quantum House helps relieve the stress and financial hardship that accompany the trauma of illness by providing temporary lodging and emotional support during a family crisis so parents may focus all their time and energy on their hospitalized children.
During the course of the year, service organizations are enlisted to prepare dinners for patients and their families. Although this may on the surface appear to be a simple act of kindness on their part, it represents a very strong gesture on the part of a caring community. This simple act allows families who may have had a very trying day, wind down and spend time with their child. Approximately once every quarter, it is an honor for the Jupiter Tequesta Kiwanis Club to be afforded the opportunity to be able to partake in this service project.
